Description

In 2021, DTC Soluciones and an automotive parts manufacturer implemented a natural gas distributed generation system with thermal application in cooling (trigeneration) to meet the growing energy demand of its industrial plant, improve operational efficiency and reduce dependence on the power grid.

A 1 MW natural gas-fired power generation unit (C1000) was installed. Part of the waste heat was used to feed an absorption chiller to produce cooling for critical areas of the process. Although the system was designed to cover only a fraction of the total demand, it achieved immediate impacts.
